Cupido Terms and Conditions
The conditions for using Cupido as a Single and Cupido: jointly approved profiles, proposals, Matches, chat and rules for a respectful community.
Last updated:
1. Provider and scope of these Terms
Cupido helps adults get to know each other through introductions curated by friends, proposals, Matches and messaging. It is operated by KUAMA SRL, VAT number IT05193790283, with its registered office at Via Germania 7 int. 5, 35010 Vigonza (Padova), Italy. Contact us at info@kuama.it or by certified email (PEC) at kuama@pec.it.
These Terms govern the use of the Cupido app for iOS and Android in the Single and Cupido roles. You are asked to accept the current version before using the app’s features. The privacy notice separately describes personal data processing: accepting these Terms does not give privacy consent.
2. Adult eligibility and account security
You may use Cupido only if you are at least 18 and can validly enter into this contract. Provide accurate, current information, including your date of birth, and use your own personal account. Impersonating others, misrepresenting your age or using someone else’s credentials is prohibited.
Protect passwords and sign-in codes and notify us if you suspect unauthorised use. Do not share your account with your Cupido or anyone else: collaboration uses separate accounts and the permissions provided by the app. Email confirmation and a declared date of birth are not documentary verification of identity or age.
3. Singles, Cupidos and invitations
A Single is a person seeking a relationship who retains control over their preferences and decisions on proposals. A Cupido helps a Single present themselves and identify potential matches. You may use either or both roles on the same account, according to the available features.
Collaboration requires acceptance of an invitation and an active link between the two accounts. An invitation does not authorise a Cupido to publish a profile for someone who has not joined. Opening an invitation link does not by itself accept the invitation.
Only invite people you may legitimately contact for this purpose; do not use invitations for spam or repeated unwanted requests. A Cupido cannot accept the Terms or give privacy consent for the Single, or accept a proposal on their behalf.
4. Drafts, approvals and profile publication
The Single enters their details and preferences and uploads photos. The Cupido curates the presentation, tags and the selection and order of available photos. Each person may edit only the fields and exercise the powers assigned to their role. The Single confirms their location and preferences.
Among users, only the Single and their associated Cupido can see the draft. A profile becomes available in matching journeys only after both have approved the same revision and the other service requirements are met. Any draft change invalidates earlier approvals. You can withdraw your approval until the draft has been activated.
If an approved version already exists, it remains available according to its status while a new draft is prepared. Changes do not replace the approved version until both people approve again. The published version is shown to authorised users in discovery, proposals and Matches, not freely on the web. Editorial approval does not replace the consent required to process the Single’s data.
5. Proposals, Matches and choices
Cupidos browse the profiles available for the Single they support, according to applicable compatibility rules and preferences. Reciprocal positive selections by the Cupidos create a proposal for the Singles involved. A Match is created only when both Singles accept the proposal; a Match enables chat between them.
An individual choice is not disclosed to the other party as a list or history of your decisions. Other users may learn the shared outcomes needed for the service to work, such as a proposal or Match.
Undo and withdrawal features are available only in the contexts and within the limits indicated in the app. They do not guarantee reversal of decisions that have already produced final shared outcomes. Either Single may close a Match; no one is obliged to accept a proposal, reply to a message or meet someone.
6. Photos, text and content rights
Only upload or propose content you have the right to use and share in the service. Information about the Single must be accurate and respectful: do not invent facts about their life, disclose unnecessary confidential information or include other people’s images or data without a valid basis. Joint profile approval does not authorise infringement of third-party rights.
Content rights remain with their respective holders. To the extent you hold those rights, you grant Kuama a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to host, reproduce, technically adapt and display content solely to provide and protect Cupido, in accordance with app permissions. Technical adaptation includes resizing or converting photos and videos.
This permission lasts as long as necessary for those purposes, subject to removal and deletion rules and the limited remaining retention needs described in the privacy notice. It does not authorise use of photos, profiles or messages in external promotional campaigns or to train artificial intelligence models. Being able to view someone else’s content does not give you rights over it.
7. Prohibited conduct and content
Use Cupido with respect for other people’s choices and boundaries. Harassment, threats, stalking, blackmail, discrimination, incitement to hatred or violence, scams, fraudulent requests for money and exploitation are prohibited. Do not use the service for spam, unauthorised commercial promotions or illegal activities.
Content depicting child sexual abuse or exploitation, intimate images shared without consent, sexual threats and unwanted sexual requests are prohibited. Do not publish pornographic content or explicit nudity in profiles. Chat does not authorise sending sexual material without the recipient’s consent or persisting after a refusal.
Do not harvest profiles or data in bulk, use bots or automated tools without authorisation, circumvent access controls or compromise the service or accounts. Do not distribute other people’s photos, messages or personal information in violation of their rights. Knowingly false reports and using support channels to harass others are prohibited; a good-faith report does not become abusive simply because it is not substantiated.
8. Messages, attachments and interaction safety
Chat is reserved for the two Singles in the Match and is not accessible to their Cupidos by virtue of that role. The history is stored in the cloud and may be accessible on devices where you sign in. It is not end-to-end encrypted: authorised Kuama personnel may access data as needed for service delivery, support, security, moderation and applicable obligations described in the privacy notice.
Online status is temporary and read receipts do not prove that a message was understood. View-once attachments do not prevent screenshots, recordings or other external copies. Deleting a message cannot recall copies already obtained and may leave evidence strictly necessary for a report or applicable obligations.
Profile approval by a Single and Cupido is not a Kuama certification of someone’s identity, intentions or reliability. Exercise care when assessing information, sharing confidential details or meeting people. A Match does not constitute consent to further contact or activities. Cupido is not an emergency service.
9. Reports, suspensions and review
You can report messages using the app’s features. For other content, unlawful conduct or violations of these Terms, email info@kuama.it with information identifying the content and explaining the reason for the report. Do not send passwords or irrelevant information about third parties.
Reports are reviewed by an operator. We do not automatically suspend an account when a report count is reached. For violations or safety risks, we may suspend an account and restrict access to Matches and chats, using measures proportionate to severity, circumstances and any repetition. We may act without prior notice when needed to protect people or comply with a legal obligation.
We communicate reasons for restrictions and ways to challenge them in the cases and within the limits required by applicable law, protecting the privacy of those involved. You can request a review at info@kuama.it with the subject “Cupido — moderation review”, identifying the account and supporting information. An operator conducts the review and a suspension may be lifted. Statutory remedies remain available.
10. Pausing and ending collaboration
The Single may pause their profile through the app. Pausing stops new discovery and freezes actions on pending activities requiring an active profile; it does not delete the account. Existing Matches and chats remain available provided their access requirements continue to be met.
When the link between a Single and Cupido ends, the former Cupido loses profile access and can no longer act for that Single. The profile becomes inactive and linked pending matching activities are closed or cancelled; existing Matches and chats are not deleted for this reason alone.
A new link with a Cupido does not automatically reactivate the profile: a complete draft and fresh approvals from both are required. Withdrawing privacy consent has different effects from pausing or merely ending collaboration, as described in the privacy notice.
11. Free features, advertising and external services
Cupido’s currently offered features are free of charge and may include Google AdMob advertisements, distinct from profiles and proposals. Advertising choices are separate from acceptance of these Terms and service consent; refusing advertising consent does not prevent you from using Cupido’s features.
You can manage advertising preferences in the app’s Settings. The privacy notice describes processing and providers. Advertisements are not a personal recommendation by Kuama and clicking an advertisement does not create proposals or Matches.
Transactions on advertisers’ sites or services are subject to their conditions, without affecting Kuama’s mandatory responsibilities. Your network provider may charge for connectivity. Any future paid features will require dedicated information and terms before a purchase; these Terms do not authorise charges or subscriptions.
12. Location and device permissions
Location features use the place selected and confirmed by the Single and, where available, the reciprocal search radius. Geographic compatibility is approximate and does not certify someone’s residence or current position. Coordinates and radius are not shown to other users.
Optional assistance from the device’s location requires the relevant permission and confirmation of the locality. We do not track location in the background. You can manage photo, camera, location and notification permissions in your device settings; refusing a permission may make the specific feature unavailable. Details of processing and Google or platform services are in the privacy notice.
13. Account deletion and remaining data
You can request deletion in the app’s Settings or by emailing info@kuama.it, subject to verification of account ownership. The procedure is described on the Account deletion page linked below. A request confirmed in the app is permanent, covers all account roles and immediately blocks use of the account.
The deleting Single’s Matches are closed and their chats become inaccessible to both participants; the other participant’s messages and attachments in those conversations are also deleted. If you delete an account with the Cupido role, the Single accounts you support are not deleted: their link to you ends, with the effects described in section 10.
Operational data and media are deleted within 7 days of a valid request, subject to the justified exceptions in the privacy notice; backup copies may persist for up to 30 days. Only evidence and information retainable for the purposes and periods described in the privacy notice are kept separately. Uninstalling the app or signing out does not delete the account.
14. Availability, updates and service changes
Kuama maintains the operation and security of the service. Maintenance, updates or technical problems may cause interruptions; we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Where possible, we give advance notice of significant planned interruptions and limit their duration and impact. This provision does not exclude applicable mandatory guarantees and remedies.
We may update Cupido for security, legal compliance, technical compatibility or feature improvements. For changes beyond those necessary to maintain service conformity, we clearly communicate the reasons and consequences, without additional cost. Where required, we give advance notice on a durable medium, such as email, and recognise the right to terminate the contract or keep the service without the change in the cases provided by law.
You may need to install updates compatible with your device to continue using features securely. Any permanent discontinuation of the service is communicated with reasonable notice, unless prevented by law or urgent security needs, with information on managing accounts and data. Applicable statutory rights remain unaffected.
15. Kuama’s and users’ responsibilities
Cupido provides introduction and communication tools: it does not guarantee a number of available profiles, proposals, Matches, meetings or the formation of a relationship. Users remain responsible for their personal choices and interactions; Kuama is responsible for its own acts and omissions under applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, death or personal injury attributable to Kuama, and mandatory consumer and personal data protections. The service being free leaves applicable rights and the right to compensation in the cases provided by law unaffected.
You are responsible for violations attributable to you under the law. Any liability for damages is determined under applicable law, taking account of established responsibilities.
16. App, trademarks and intellectual property
Kuama and the respective rights holders retain rights to the app, the Cupido trademark, logos, design and other service materials. You may use the app for the personal purposes provided by these Terms. You may not resell the service or reproduce its marks and materials for unauthorised uses, subject to statutory permissions and your rights over your own content.
17. Changes to the Terms
We may change these Terms for legal compliance, security or service changes described in section 14. We state the revision date and communicate significant changes through the app or the account’s email address, with advance notice where required. Changes do not remove rights already accrued.
When acceptance of a new version is required, the app expressly asks for it before you continue using the affected features. If you do not wish to accept, you may stop using the service and request account deletion; rights and support channels remain available. Updating these Terms does not replace privacy consent required for new purposes.
18. Complaints, governing law and disputes
For support or service complaints, email info@kuama.it or kuama@pec.it, describing the issue and providing information to identify the account. You may use the subject “Cupido — complaint”. Do not send passwords or sign-in codes. Contacting support is not a mandatory contractual prerequisite to exercising your rights or going to court.
These Terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of the mandatory protections of the law that would apply without that choice, including those of your country of habitual residence where the relevant conditions are met.
Disputes with consumers remain subject to the courts determined by applicable consumer protection rules, including those relating to residence or domicile. We do not impose the courts at Kuama’s registered office, mandatory arbitration or waivers of statutory actions and remedies.
Alternative dispute resolution procedures remain available in the cases and on the conditions provided by law. For personal data matters, you may also contact the competent supervisory authority as described in the privacy notice.
19. Languages and final provisions
These Terms are available in Italian and English. Both versions describe the same conditions: there is no automatic language precedence that reduces consumer protection. If a provision is invalid or not binding, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent the contract can continue without it, without automatically replacing it with terms less favourable to the user.
